Nancy Lofholm
Nancy Lofholm has been covering news from the Western Slope — by choice — for more than four decades. In that time, she has covered everything from high-profile murders and "stolen" elections to bat research and wine making.
Nancy grew up in Nebraska, so this more rural side of the divide and its rich mix of stories suits her country-girl roots. She has worked for a number of small-town newspapers, the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel, and 17 years as the Western Slope reporter for The Denver Post. For the past 8 years, she has worked as a freelance writer for the Colorado Sun, Colorado Public Radio and the Colorado Trust. She has had articles published in the New York Times and the Washington Post.
She has authored one book, "Louise's Grand Adventure," a compilation of articles about a hospice patient. She has earned more than 100 awards for individual stories from the Colorado Press Association, Top of the Rockies, the Society of Professional Journalists, and Cox News. Her curiosity about everything from Zebra Mussels to school lunches keeps her writing and reporting beyond the typical age of retirement.
